What is HMB (Hydroxy Methyl Butyrate) Powder?
Hydroxy Methyl Butyrate (also known as HMB) is a metabolite of L-Leucine, a branch chain amino acid (BCAA) that is naturally produced in the body through oxidation of the ketoacid of l-leucine (α-ketoisocaproic acid). HMB was first introduced in the 90’s and has been a popular body building supplement. It is commonly added to ‘All In One’ formula’s that contain Protein, Carbohydrates and Creatine.

HMB Is a great addition to post workout shakes. You can add HMB to our Whey Protein, as protein contributes to the maintenance growth and maintenance of muscle mass, or creatine monohydrate, with a daily intake of 3g, can increase physical performance in bursts of short-term, high-intensity exercise.
When is best to take HMB Powder?
HMB can be taken pre, intra and post workout. Although typically it is taken post training with Creatine and Whey Protein.
