What are Cacao Nibs?
Cacao beans contain over 300 active substances, these include phenyl, ethylamine and serotine. Cacao beans are more well known for being the base for the making of chocolate. Our Cacao Nibs come in their raw form and can be used in a variety of ways such as cakes, cereals, shakes and baked goods.
Our Cacao Nibs contain antioxidants which can help fight free radicals and play a role in protecting DNA, proteins and lipids from oxidative stress. They are also rich in minerals such as Copper, Iron, Manganese & Magnesium. Copper contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
Peak Supps Organic Cacao Nibs’ country of origin is Peru and come from the Theobroma Cacao. The beans used are harvested from their pods, after which only the finest quality beans are selected. They are then fermented to both reduce their bitterness and preserve their nutritional content. Then they cleaned and dried in natural water before being peeled and the cores are broken down into “nibs”.
*The production process fully preserves the nutritional value of the cacao without any additives.

Cacao Flapjack Recipe:
Ingredients: 1½ tablespoons Cacao Nibs, 3 tablespoons cacao powder, 125g rolled oats, 2 tablespoons coconut chips, 4 tablespoons honey, 4 tablespoons coconut oil, 2 tablespoons almond butter.
Method: In a pan combine the honey, coconut oil, almond butter and cacao powder. Stir over a low heat until mixed. Remove from the heat and add the oats, coconut and cacao nibs. Spread out on baking paper and leave to cool in the fridge for 2 hours. *For a fruity twist, try adding some dried berries.
