What is Algae Oil?
Algae Oil is sourced from marine algae (Schizochytrium). It is rich in Omega 3 in the form of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), this makes it a popular supplement with vegans & vegetarians as Omega 3 is also taken as Fish Oil.
DHA is a long chain fatty acids which has been shown to provide several health benefits. DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and brain function. The dose recommended to obtain optimal benefits is 250mg minimal of DHA daily.
The human body is unable to produce Omega 3, therefore we must consume it through supplementation or dietary sources. Our Algae Oil Softgels also contain Vitamin E which contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Each serving provides 400mg of DHA & 13.6mg (20.2IU) of Vitamin E (113.4% NRV).
