What is Organic Maca Powder?

Maca Root has been used traditionally as a natural alternative for centuries. Maca Root has been harvested in Peru for over 3000 years and is found in the Andes Mountains. It is popular to support hormone balance in both male and females. Maca is rich in alkaloids, saponins and tannins.

Maca is often considered the ‘superfood of the Andes’. It is popular amongst the indigenous population of the Peruvian Andes. Cultivated in spring, Maca is a small root vegetable from the maca plant grown at altitudes over 3500m.

Traditionally integrated in the nutrition of natives, the maca root has evolved to a modern day ‘superfood’. Our Maca powder is made up of a normal harvest (unsorted) of approximately 70% yellow Maca root, and 30% mix of red, black and purple Maca root.

Our Organic Maca powder is sourced from Peru. It can be used in a variety of ways, including smoothies, salads, juices, desserts and raw cooking recipes.
