What is Organic Maitake Mushroom?
Maitake mushrooms, also known as Hen-Of-The-Woods, are commonly found throughout Asia. They grow in large clusters at the bases of trees and have been used in traditional Asian remedies for centuries. Maitake is known as ‘The King of the Mushrooms’ in Japan due to its rumoured health benefits.
Peak Supps Organic Maitake Mushroom Powder is made using the fruiting body of the Grifola Frondosa mushroom. It is harvested, dried, granulated and finally ground into a fine powder. It is pale-brown in colour and has a nutty/woody taste and smell.
It is used as an adaptogen to help reduce stress. Adaptogens are herbal remedies that can help with physical, chemical and environmental stress. Our Organic Maitake Powder is high in protein and fibre, is 4% polysaccharides and is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Maitake Hot Chocolate Recipe:
Ingredients: 2 cups milk of your choice, 2tbsp cacao powder, 1tsp Organic Maitake Powder, 1tsp honey or maple syrup.
Method: Combine the milk, cacao and Organic Maitake Powder into a pot. Heat on medium low heat for 5-8 minutes or until heated through, whisking together to combine. Pour into a mug and add honey or maple syrup to taste.
