5 Healthy Habits For 2023

Needing some healthy habits inspo for the new year? we got you! 

Living a healthier lifestyle is always a great idea but can sometimes feel overwhelming. We've chosen 5 easy, healthy habits you can introduce to your new year routine. 

1. Walking

It goes without saying that spending time in nature has endless health benefits. Embracing the outdoors and getting active by walking at least 20 minutes a day is a great healthy habit to incorporate into your 2023 routine. According to mind.org, spending time in nature can:

  • improve your mood
  • reduce feelings of stress or anger
  • help you take time out and feel more relaxed
  • improve your physical health

2. Limit early morning/late night screen time 

Phones can often be a distraction to a fulfilling morning or a good night's sleep. Try to avoid screen time first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Instead, find productive activities to spend time on such as a mindful morning routine, or reading a book before bed. 

3. Try a new mindful hobby

Having a hobby is a great way to find enjoyment outside of your day-to-day routine. According to headtohealth, research has shown that people with hobbies are less likely to suffer from stress, low mood, and depression. Some examples of hobbies are:

  • Reading
  • Walking
  • Yoga
  • Meditating

4. Eating nourishing meals

Spend more time eating nourishing, fulfilling meals. A good way to start is to try eating at least 3 servings of vegetables per day. 

5. Fulfilling morning routine 

When we say morning routine, we don't mean waking up at 5 am and completing 10 tasks before starting your day. A morning routine means waking up early enough to give yourself some time to naturally wake up and enjoy your morning, rather than hitting the snooze and then running out the door. 

A morning routine can allow you to be mindful, eat a nourishing breakfast, and just be present with yourself before you start your busy day!
