What are Organic Currants?

Peak Supps Organic Currants are produced in Greece where they are sun-dried. They are Vostizza grade which are one of the smallest currants in the world. Our Organic Currants are high in fibre, providing 6.8g per 100g. They are deep purple in colour and have a sweet & fruity flavour with a soft texture.

Like most dried fruits, Currants are naturally high in calories and sugar. When eaten in moderation, these fruits can be a healthier alternative to other foods such as sweets. Each 30g serving provides 96 calories & 21.6g of sugar.

Currant Cookie Recipe

Ingredient: 150g Organic Currants, ½tsp cinnamon, 200g oats, 225g butter, 225g caster sugar & 170g condensed milk.

Method: Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 4 / 180°C / 160°C Fan. Cream the condensed milk, butter and sugar in a large bowl. Mix in the flour, cinnamon, oats and Currants. Roll the dough into desired shapes and place on a lined baking tray. Bake for 15 minutes until golden. Enjoy!
