What are Organic Sultanas?

The grapes used for our Organic Sultanas are Thompson seedless grapes of the Vitis Vinifera L variety. They are sun dried and organically harvested in Turkey. Sultanas are rich in antioxidants which can help fight free radicals and play a role in protecting DNA, proteins and lipids from oxidative stress.

Sultana Loaf Recipe:
Ingredients: 200g Organic Sultanas, 1tbsp plain flour, 200g self-raising flour, 130g unsalted butter, 130g caster sugar, 2tbsp milk, 2 eggs.
Method: Preheat the oven at Gas Mark 3 / 160°C / 320°F. Cream the butter & sugar together. Beat the eggs separately and temper them by slowly adding them to the butter and sugar mixture along with a little flour. Fold in the remaining flour. Ina separate bowl, toss the sultanas in the plain flour and fold them into the mixture. Milk can be added if the mixture is too dry. Empty into a greased loaf tin and bake for 1 hour or until a skewer comes out clean. Serve and enjoy!
